Knapp comes into the arena with Chevelle - The Red blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Peter Knapp has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Knapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez staying out of range there.
Knapp keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sanchez.
Sanchez misses with a wild combination.
Knapp lands a jab.
Knapp throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sanchez slips a straight right by Knapp.
Knapp cracks Sanchez with an uppercut from hell and Sanchez crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Knapp's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanchez wants to stand but Knapp is controlling the position.
Knapp stopping the sweep attempt from Sanchez.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Knapp wanted to stand there but Sanchez had control of the position.
Sanchez trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Sanchez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Knapp preventing the sweep.
Sanchez has a closed guard, preventing Knapp from standing up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Knapp throws a combination that misses
letting Sanchez counter with a right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knapp throws out a loose jab but Sanchez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Knapp moves into range and connects with a jab.


It looks like Paul Sanchez has been cut.
Knapp throws an overhand right that lands on Sanchez's shoulder, as Sanchez tries to avoid the shot.
Sanchez throws a combination that misses
and Knapp counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Sanchez off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Knapp follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Sanchez was out before he hit the floor.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Peter Knapp!
