The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Soderstrom. No joy for Joans on that attempt.
Joans looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Soderstrom is fending him off so far but Joans persists. Nope, Soderstrom circles away and we're back to standing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Joans lands a nice short elbow.

Soderstrom is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Joans wants to take a breather but Soderstrom is having none of it.
