PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Emory Terranova (ranked 1937 p4p, 7184 weight class) and Perdue Willshire (ranked 210 p4p, 519 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

With a record of 8 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perdue Willshire!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terranova fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Terranova will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Terranova shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Terranova postures up.

Terranova drops back, looking for a kneebar! Willshire looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Willshire looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Willshire!

Willshire wants to take a breather but Terranova manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Willshire.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Willshire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Emory Terranova overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Terranova postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Willshire is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Terranova, into his guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Willshire shoots in and drives through. Terranova sprawls well.
Terranova throws a series of strikes that have Willshire backpedaling.
Willshire throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A low kick from Terranova is predictable there
and Willshire counters with a nice body kick.
Willshire takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Terranova fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Willshire, pushing him back against the cage.
Terranova lands a nice elbow.
Willshire is trying to pull guard but Terranova turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Willshire connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Terranova's hands.
Willshire gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Willshire tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Willshire drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Willshire tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Terranova was well out of range. Poor timing from Willshire.

Willshire drops his hands momentarily and Terranova takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Willshire takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Terranova turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Terranova manages to end up in side control.

Willshire takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Terranova's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
