The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phontana jabs Ramirez Pena right on the nose. Ramirez Pena blinks but takes it well.
Ramirez Pena misses with a leg kick

and Phontana counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Ramirez Pena looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Ramirez Pena is looking to break free of the clinch but Phontana has double underhooks.
Ramirez Pena tries to pull guard but Phontana holds him up against the cage and eventually Ramirez Pena drops back down to his feet.

Phontana's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Phontana dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ramirez Pena. That did some damage!
Ramirez Pena sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Ramirez Pena tries a head kick but it misses.
Ramirez Pena takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Ramirez Pena walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Phontana clobbers Ramirez Pena with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
