Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wallace Everett (ranked 3714 p4p, 5339 weight class) and Andre Douglas (ranked 337 p4p, 416 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wallace Everett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andre Douglas!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Everett closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Douglas's guard.
Everett slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Everett sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Douglas's guard.
Everett perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Everett seems to be working for a kimura but Douglas defends the submission attempt.
Douglas wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Everett shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Everett was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Douglas tries to bench press Everett off him but Everett keeps the position.
Everett wants to lay and pray for a moment but Douglas keeps working.

Douglas is working to avoid the ground and pound but Everett connects with a decent elbow.

Douglas tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Everett wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Everett goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Douglas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Everett but great work by Douglas.

Douglas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Douglas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Everett has escaped the position, nice work there.

Douglas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Douglas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Everett fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Douglas sprawls well initially but Everett persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Everett is working for a submission of some sort.

Everett is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Douglas is just riding it out for now. Everett eventually gives up the hold.

Andre Douglas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Everett throws a sloppy head kick and Douglas moves out of range easily.

Douglas cracks Everett with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wallace Everett.
I think Everett has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
