Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Umar Petrov (ranked 5561 p4p, 5715 weight class) and Freddie DeLuna (ranked 615 p4p, 624 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Umar Petrov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Freddie DeLuna!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeLuna bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
DeLuna dives in for a single leg takedown but Petrov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A quick step to the side and Petrov tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
DeLuna avoids a punch combination nicely.
A slow jab from Petrov misses its intended target.
Nice sprawl there from Petrov as DeLuna shoots in.
DeLuna shoots in but Petrov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Umar Petrov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddie DeLuna.
Petrov throws a jab when DeLuna was well out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DeLuna shoots in looking for a takedown. Petrov tries to sprawl out of it but DeLuna keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Petrov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
DeLuna tries to clinch
and Petrov counters with a stiff right hand.
Petrov connects with a looping right hand.

No joy there for Petrov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Petrov scores with a jab. DeLuna acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Petrov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Petrov wants it to stay on the feet.
Petrov throwing a counter right hand but DeLuna manages to avoid it.
DeLuna shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Petrov as he jumps to the side.
Petrov seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Petrov misses with a straight right.
Petrov throws a lazy right hand but DeLuna sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Umar Petrov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Petrov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Petrov's jab looks to have found its range, popping DeLuna under the eye.
Petrov is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Petrov throws a series of strikes that have DeLuna backpedaling.
DeLuna closes this distance looking for a takedown but Petrov circles away.
Petrov throws a good cross that connects.
DeLuna takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
DeLuna dives in and grabs Petrov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Petrov pushes down on DeLuna's head and hops out.
Petrov throws a hook but DeLuna blocks it.
DeLuna with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Petrov to score with a decent uppercut.
DeLuna closes the distance and clinches up with Petrov, looking for a takedown. DeLuna pushes Petrov against the cage but Petrov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Petrov misses with a two punch combination.
DeLuna shoots and misses
and Petrov counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Petrov lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Petrov tries to bum rush DeLuna with a series of wild strikes but DeLuna uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
DeLuna changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Petrov tries to avoid it but DeLuna manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Petrov to the ground. Petrov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
DeLuna dodges the punch combination from Petrov.
DeLuna slips under a jab from Petrov.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Petrov moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Petrov throws an off balance right hand

and DeLuna counters with a nice double leg into side control. Petrov won't be happy with that.

DeLuna is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Petrov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Petrov is looking to reverse the position.

DeLuna working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

DeLuna tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no DeLuna has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Petrov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for DeLuna on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

DeLuna working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Petrov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
DeLuna wants to control but Petrov is keeping him busy.

DeLuna thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Petrov is trying to buck DeLuna off.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Umar Petrov dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

DeLuna moves out of range of the strikes.
Petrov lands with a nice body punch.
DeLuna shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Petrov digs a good hook to DeLuna's body.
Petrov stalks DeLuna and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into DeLuna's face. DeLuna staggers backwards, shaken.
Petrov misses with a jab, cross combination.

DeLuna has an Americana. Petrov didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! DeLuna is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if DeLuna hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Freddie DeLuna!
