Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matter darts in looking for a takedown but Mercel gets double underhooks and turns Matter into the cage.
Mercel misses the jab.
Nice defenses there by Matter.
Mercel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Matter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Matter tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Mercel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nice defenses there by Matter.
Matter let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Matter has a takedown stuffed.
Mercel lands a nice hook to Matter's body. Matter takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Mercel lands a jab to Matter's midsection.
Matter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mercel throws out the jab.
Mercel is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Matter's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mercel scores with a crisp jab that stopped Matter in his tracks.
Mercel jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Matter is rocked!
A big right from Mercel misses.
Matter is still on wobbly legs! Can Mercel finish him?
Mercel throws a looping overhand right but Matter ducks down to avoid it.
Matter seems to have recovered his senses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mercel lands a lovely overhand right.
Matter wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matter dives in for a single leg takedown but Mercel sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Mercel Mercel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Doesnt Matter.

Mercel drops Matter with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Matter looks back up at him and smiles so Mercel waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Matter glances at the clock... BAM! Mercel nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Matter crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Matter is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
