PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cedrick Collner (ranked 24109 p4p, 1491 weight class) and Petter Persson (ranked 628 p4p, 177 weight class). Persson has chosen JINJER - Pisces as his entrance music. Petter Persson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cedrick Collner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Petter Persson!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collner tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Persson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Cedrick Collner has been cut.
Collner looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Collner fails with an attempt to clinch.

Collner moves into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Persson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Collner is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Collner misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Collner is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Persson is pressed up against the cage. Collner has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Persson down to the mat. Persson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Collner closes the distance looking to clinch
and Persson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Persson engages and cracks Collner with a massive lead left hook - Collner tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Persson is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Petter Persson!
A very excited looking Petter Persson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
