Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leyte Gulf (ranked 3447 p4p, 4035 weight class) and Royler Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gulf comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Royler Gracie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leyte Gulf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Royler Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in but no luck this time.
Gulf with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Gulf lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Gulf connects with a body shot.
Gulf lands a slapping body shot.
Gulf lands with a hook. Gracie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Gulf sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jab, jab by Gulf - just one landing.
Gracie doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Leyte Gulf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royler Gracie.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gulf throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gracie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Gracie looks for a takedown but Gulf sprawls well.
Gulf scores with a hook to the body. Gracie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.
Gracie looks winded!
Gulf throws a series of strikes that have Gracie backpedaling.
Gulf has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Heavy Metal in the buildup to the fight.
A cross from Gulf lands.
Gulf is looking to wear down Gracie with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
A shot to the liver by Gulf. Beautiful body shot.
Oooooh!!! Gulf has knocked Gracie down with a huge combo! Gulf steps away and waves a wobbly Gracie back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Gracie is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gulf steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Gracie is out on his feet! Gulf sets himself and nearly takes Gracie's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Leyte Gulf!
Leyte Gulf spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
