Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sauli Heilimo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshall Matthers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Heilimo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to ratamahatta. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthers closes the distance and clinches.
Heilimo prevents the takedown attempt.
Matthers pulls Heilimo into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matthers looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Matthers trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matthers is trying to control the position but Heilimo postures up.

Heilimo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Matthers knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Matthers is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Heilimo pulls his head out easily.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Matthers has managed to clinch.

Matthers has Heilimo up against the cage in a clinch.
Matthers goes for a takedown attempt but Heilimo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Heilimo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Matthers's waist but Matthers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Heilimo off to one side.
Heilimo is breathing heavily.
Heilimo misses with a takedown attempt - Matthers sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Matthers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Heilimo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Matthers's guard now.

Heilimo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Matthers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Heilimo.

Heilimo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Matthers turns into him and now he's in Heilimo's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Heilimo flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Heilimo is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Marshall Matthers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Matthers connects with a nice short shot to Heilimo's temple.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Heilimo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Matthers doesn't defend quickly enough and Heilimo has managed to lock this one up! Can Matthers escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Heilimo on a fantastic submission victory.
