The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paulman Jr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
De Moncey had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Paulman Jr defends it easily.
De Moncey is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Paulman Jr defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Moncey is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Paulman Jr is aware though and is defending well.
De Moncey looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Moncey is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
De Moncey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Paulman Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

De Moncey is working an open guard so Paulman Jr takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Paulman Jr fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging De Moncey to the ground. Paulman Jr is now in De Moncey's guard.
Paulman Jr in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Paulman Jr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Moncey swivels though and keeps the full guard.
De Moncey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Paulman Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Paulman Jr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Paulman Jr looking to improve position, pressing down on De Moncey's thigh with his hand. De Moncey seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Paulman Jr paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Paulman Jr 's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! De Moncey picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
