Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Stevens!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinn scores with a crisp jab that stopped Stevens in his tracks.
Some bone on bone action there as Stevens checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Stevens throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Quinn could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Quinn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stevens.
Mike Quinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quinn looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Quinn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Stevens lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Stevens shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Quinn is looking for a sweep. Stevens is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quinn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Quinn.

Stevens drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stevens jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Quinn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Quinn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Stevens throws a strike but Quinn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Quinn wants to pass the guard but Stevens is keeping the position.

Stevens is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Quinn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Quinn wants to get up but he can't break Stevens's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Stevens has his foot on Quinn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Quinn works his way back into a safe position though.

Stevens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Quinn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Quinn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Stevens isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Quinn stacks Stevens on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Quinn!

Quinn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stevens is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Quinn remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That's time! Quinn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Quinn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Quinn bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Quinn lands with a hook. Stevens tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Stevens closes the distance and clinches up with Quinn, looking for a takedown. Stevens pushes Quinn against the cage but Quinn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Quinn tries to close the distance and clinch but Stevens swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice shot lands for Quinn.
Quinn stuffs the takedown attempt from Stevens. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet.
Mike Quinn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Quinn lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Stevens doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Quinn tries to score with a low kick but Stevens moves his leg out of the way.
Stevens has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Quinn lands with an uppercut that bounces Stevens off the cage and back into rage.
Stevens fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mike Quinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Stevens.

Stevens closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Quinn to the mat! Quinn manages to get full guard.

Stevens stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Quinn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Quinn lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Stevens hang on?
Stevens takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Stevens is bucking up trying to escape but Quinn cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Stevens wants to control but Quinn is having none of it.

Quinn is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Stevens can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stevens looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Quinn is fending him off so far but Stevens persists. Nope, Quinn circles away and we're back to standing.
Stevens changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Quinn tries to avoid it but Stevens manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Quinn to the ground. Quinn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A clash of legs there as Stevens blocks the low kick.
Quinn lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Quinn.

Stevens avoids a punch combination nicely.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Stevens.
