Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Lewis (ranked 6831 p4p, 5015 weight class) and John Router (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Router!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Router closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Router wants to take a breather but Lewis is having none of it.
Router prevents Lewis from standing back up.
Lewis is breathing heavily.
Router wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lewis keeps working.
Router looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Router controlling the action here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Router darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Router should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Lewis blocking the ground and pound attempt from Router.
Router moves nicely into side control.

Router is trying to get an arm triangle but Lewis is defending well.
Lewis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Router on the ground.

Router trying to control the position but Lewis is working away.

The ground and pound from Router seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Lewis prevents Router from moving into mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Router has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lewis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Router feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Router stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lewis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Router is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Router decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lewis, up you get!

Lewis gets caught napping as Router dives in and scores a takedown. Lewis manages to retain guard.
Router wants to control from the top but Lewis keeps moving.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Router dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Router fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lewis sprawls well initially but Router persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Lewis has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Router is on him like a limpet, forcing Lewis back against the cage.
Router swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Router tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lewis is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Router is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lewis to keep the fight standing.
James Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Router.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Router misses with a hook to the ribs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lewis keeps control of Router as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Router is trying to pull guard but Lewis turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Router tries for a takedown but Lewis manages to get underhooks.
Router has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lewis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Router pulls guard effortlessly.
Lewis prevents Router from getting back to his feet.
Router controls Lewis momentarily but Lewis frees himself.
Router wants to stand but Lewis is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Router looking to control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Router tries to clinch but Lewis moves out of range.
Router missing with a left hand there. Lewis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Router throws a sloppy head kick and Lewis moves out of range easily.

Router closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lewis's guard.
Lewis keeping moving, preventing Router from controlling successfully.
Router might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lewis haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Router slips nicely into half guard.
Router has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Router trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

John Router has got the better of the ground game so far.
Router can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lewis is looking to escape.
Router scoring with strikes but Lewis is staying in there.
Router looking to control but Lewis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Router showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Router feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Router sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lewis's guard.
Router wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lewis keeps working.

Router stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Lewis to get to his feet.

Router drops back looking for a leg! Lewis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lewis manages to kick Router off! Router jumps back into Lewis's guard.

Lewis bucks up and tries to throw Router off but instead Router has got his back!

Router looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Lewis taps!
