Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kimmo Kehveli (ranked 2127 p4p, 2903 weight class) and Dave Brooksbank (ranked 236 p4p, 313 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Kimmo Kehveli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Brooksbank!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brooksbank looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kehveli!
Brooksbank is looking to take a break and control but Kehveli is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Brooksbank tries to advance to mount but Kehveli denies him.

Brooksbank is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kehveli is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kehveli tries to buck Brooksbank off but Brooksbank is having none of it.

Brooksbank wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kehveli, who protects the arm well.

Brooksbank wants to advance to full mount but Kehveli doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Brooksbank not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Brooksbank closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Kehveli tries to counter with a takedown but Brooksbank is quick to defend against it.

Dave Brooksbank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brooksbank throws a right hand that Kehveli ducks under and follows up with a left that Kehveli also avoids with ease.

Brooksbank throws a leg kick which misses Kehveli's front leg but catches the back leg as Kehveli tries to avoid it.

My spies in Crapollas Gym inform me that Brooksbank has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Well Brooksbank has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
