Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nikolai Tsavieva (ranked 3034 p4p, 1884 weight class) and Jian Zhao (ranked 335 p4p, 212 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Zhao's choice of entrance music: GZA - Shadowboxin'. Jian Zhao has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nikolai Tsavieva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jian Zhao!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhao misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tsavieva seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Zhao throws a head kick that misses.
Tsavieva is looking to clinch.
A solid body kick from Zhao.
Tsavieva misses with a body punch
and Zhao makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Zhao moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Tsavieva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zhao throws a head kick that Tsavieva semi-blocks.
It looks like Nikolai Tsavieva has been cut.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Zhao - that will leave a mark!
Zhao keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tsavieva.
It seemed like Zhao was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tsavieva has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Zhao finds it's way round the side to connect with Tsavieva's head.
Zhao looks to score with a jab to the body but Tsavieva is just out of range.
Zhao has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Zhao ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Tsavieva definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Zhao lands with a kick to the ribs.
Tsavieva throws a body shot but no joy.
Nice body kick there by Zhao.
Tsavieva takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Zhao moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Tsavieva is breathing heavily.
Zhao cracks Tsavieva with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Tsavieva slips a jab from Zhao.
Tsavieva is looking to counter the offense by Zhao and move into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zhao throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zhao throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tsavieva stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Zhao lands with a nice body kick.
Zhao throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Zhao lands a big right hand that sends Tsavieva crashing to the mat! Zhao stays standing though and waves Tsavieva back to his feet!
Tsavieva is rocked!
Zhao throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Oh Tsavieva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tsavieva gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Zhao gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jian Zhao!
Our winner, Jian Zhao, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
