PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diomedes Panagiotis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Lazenby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Panagiotis.
Nice sprawl there from Lazenby as Panagiotis shoots in.
Panagiotis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
A slapping body kick lands there for Lazenby.

so Lazenby counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lazenby really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Panagiotis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lazenby is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lazenby stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Panagiotis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Panagiotis could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Panagiotis had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lazenby is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Panagiotis Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lazenby's back instead.
A lull in the action here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lazenby manages to reverse the position and now he's in Panagiotis's guard. Nice work there by Lazenby.

Panagiotis is looking to sinch up a triangle. Lazenby throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Panagiotis's body to avoid the submission. Panagiotis has instead reached around Lazenby's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Panagiotis arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
