Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romulo Barral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brad Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Romulo Barral!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barral moves out of range of the body kick from Brown.
Brown scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Barral doesn't seem bothered though.
Brown lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Barral shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Barral was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Brown's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Barral content just to control the position here.
Brown is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Brown has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Barral biding his time, controlling Brown.
Brown is trying to get back to his feet but Barral has full control of the position and if anything, Brown has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Barral is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

What can Brown do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Brown manages to stand up with Barral still on his back. Eventually Barral drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
Brown lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Barral at a distance.

Brown lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barral circles away quickly and effectively.
Barral tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brown swivels and escapes.
Nice sprawl there from Brown as Barral shoots in.
Brown tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Barral was well out of range. Poor timing from Brown.
Brown uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Barral has time to react.

Barral shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Barral showed some decent athleticism there.

Brown trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Barral avoids a punch combination nicely.
Barral looks to land a left hand but Brown moved out of range nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Barral closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Barral takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, Romulo Barral just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brown misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Brown throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Barral closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Brown is not content to let Barral control the position.

Brown is trying to stand up here but Barral is controlling him well.

Barral might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brown kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Barral is keen to just control but Brown is a slippery customer.
Brown is looking to escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Barral on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Brown throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Brown swings for the body but Barral moves out of range.
Brown throws a series of punches but Barral moves out of range.

Barral changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brown looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Barral tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Brown pushes Barral away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Barral gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Brown is looking to get back to his feet here but Barral is keeping cool and he's managed to take Brown's back.

Barral is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Brown is defending well though. Barral let's go of the attempt for now.

Brown is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Brown staying busy and making it hard for Barral to control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Romulo Barral showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Barral closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Brown is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Barral asserts his dominance and retains side control.
