The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
tak shoots in for a takedown but Phaneuf shows good takedown defense.

tak tries to keep at a distance but Phaneuf has taken the fight into the clinch.
tak jumps guard but Phaneuf stands there with tak around his waist. tak gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

tak tightens his grip and picks Phaneuf up, before dumping him to the ground. Phaneuf manages to land in guard.
Phaneuf wants to sweep here but tak controlling him for the moment.
Phaneuf is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Phaneuf lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for tak!
tak is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Phaneuf unloads with some shots from mount but tak bucks and avoids them well.

tak is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Phaneuf is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Phaneuf extends the arm and tak is forced to tap!
