Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Van Der Ley (ranked 4915 p4p, 4798 weight class) and Stan Marsh (ranked 532 p4p, 517 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stan Marsh!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Der Ley connects with an inside leg kick.

Der Ley rushes Marsh and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Marsh successfully pulls guard.
Der Ley trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Marsh manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Der Ley wants to stand up but Marsh is controlling him.

Der Ley clobbers Marsh with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Marsh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Der Ley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Marsh loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Marsh drops back, looking for a kneebar! Der Ley looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Der Ley looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Der Ley!

I really don't envy Marsh right now.
Der Ley gets his hands free as Marsh looks to control.

Marsh looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Marsh can't escape the position.
Der Ley just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Marsh prevents Der Ley from getting a body triangle.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The crowd cheers as Der Ley lands an impressive looking overhand right. Marsh doesn't seem phased though.

Marsh jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Der Ley walks away with a smile on his face. Marsh gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Van Der Ley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Marsh.
Der Ley tries to bum rush Marsh with a series of wild strikes but Marsh uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Der Ley gets caught napping as Marsh dives in and scores a takedown. Der Ley manages to retain guard.

Der Ley drops Marsh with a beautiful combination! Marsh stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Der Ley is looking for the KO!

Der Ley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Marsh should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Marsh blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Marsh tries to pull guard but Der Ley won't allow it.
Der Ley lands with a right to the head.
Der Ley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marsh can do to turn this around?

Marsh has clasped his hands together around Der Ley's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Der Ley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Marsh to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Well Der Ley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
