Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marshal Mayhem (ranked 34 p4p, 571 weight class) and Evan Duvernay (ranked 2 p4p, 71 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marshal Mayhem!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evan Duvernay!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayhem misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Duvernay.
Duvernay throws a lazy uppercut
and Mayhem counters with a straight right hand.
Nice uppercut lands for Mayhem. That snapped Duvernay's head back.
Mayhem comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mayhem swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jab by Mayhem.
Duvernay lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Duvernay throws out a powerful jab.

It looks like Marshal Mayhem has been cut.
Mayhem definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Duvernay uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mayhem.
Duvernay swings for the body but Mayhem moves out of range.
Duvernay takes a swing at Mayhem's ribcage but misses.
Duvernay throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mayhem shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Duvernay manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mayhem stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duvernay swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mayhem slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mayhem thows a left - swing and a miss!

A slow jab from Mayhem misses its intended target.
Mayhem misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Duvernay.
Duvernay throws out a counter right but Mayhem avoids it with no problem.
Duvernay throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Mayhem counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Duvernay counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mayhem misses the jab.
Mayhem moves forwards but Duvernay connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Mayhem swats away the attempt to clinch by Duvernay.
Mayhem staying out of range there.
Duvernay avoids the body shot from Mayhem.
Duvernay takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Duvernay lands a glancing blow to the side of Mayhem's head.
Duvernay misses with an uppercut.
Mayhem shoots and misses

and Duvernay counters with a nice right hand that sends Mayhem toppling to the canvas! Mayhem scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Duvernay finish him?!

Mayhem is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mayhem gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Duvernay gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Evan Duvernay!
Evan Duvernay is the new lightweight champion!
Evan Duvernay decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
