The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoya shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sagidiev but Sagidiev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sagidiev throws a quick counter kick to the body but Hoya avoids it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sagidiev is looking to work some ground and pound but Hoya has wrist control.

Hoya is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sagidiev throws a big elbow that misses.
Hoya has a closed guard, preventing Sagidiev from standing up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sagidiev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Sagidiev is sitting in close to Hoya's body. Hoya has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Sagidiev is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Sagidiev is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hoya.
