Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benei Gillespie (ranked 4626 p4p, 4584 weight class) and Zibi Kaufer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benei Gillespie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zibi Kaufer!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaufer throws a body kick that misses

and Gillespie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gillespie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kaufer is just riding it out for now. Gillespie eventually gives up the hold.

Kaufer makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Gillespie connects with a body shot that sends Kaufer's belly button to the back.
Kaufer shoots in and drives through. Gillespie sprawls well.
Gillespie is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Gillespie looking to score a takedown here. Kaufer is defending well but Gillespie drives through and ends up in Kaufer's guard.

Kaufer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gillespie controls the pace.
Kaufer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gillespie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gillespie throws a big elbow that misses.
Gillespie prevents Kaufer from getting back to his feet.
Kaufer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kaufer wants to get back to his feet but Gillespie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gillespie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kaufer wants to stand up but Gillespie is controlling him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Kaufer gets caught flat footed, as Gillespie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Gillespie wants to pass the guard but Kaufer is keeping the position.

Kaufer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gillespie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gillespie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gillespie trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kaufer's guard.

Gillespie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gillespie lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gillespie leaves Kaufer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kaufer dives in and grabs Gillespie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gillespie pushes down on Kaufer's head and hops out.
Benei Gillespie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zibi Kaufer.

Gillespie tries to buck Kaufer off but Kaufer is having none of it.

Gillespie throws a head kick but Kaufer moves out of range.

Gillespie closes the distance and clinches.

Gillespie has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Kaufer regains guard immediately.

Kaufer is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gillespie presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Gillespie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kaufer misses with a takedown

and Gillespie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gillespie.
Gillespie could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gillespie wants to control from the top but Kaufer keeps moving.
Gillespie would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Gillespie is trying to drag Kaufer to the mat but Kaufer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Kaufer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gillespie just stands there and leans against the cage.

Gillespie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Benei Gillespie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kaufer shoots in looking for a takedown but Gillespie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kaufer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gillespie feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Benei Gillespie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zibi Kaufer.
Gillespie defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kaufer.
Kaufer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gillespie pinned against the cage. Gillespie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Gillespie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kaufer explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Gillespie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kaufer is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gillespie wants to stand up but Kaufer has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Kaufer is not content to let Gillespie control the position.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kaufer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kaufer keeps trying to improve his position.
Gillespie tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Kaufer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Benei Gillespie will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gillespie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gillespie is pulling down on Kaufer's head. It's preventing any offense from Kaufer, at least for the moment.
Kaufer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gillespie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gillespie seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
