The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Filch.
Valdez connects with an inside leg kick.
Valdez throws a looping overhand right but Filch ducks down to avoid it.
Valdez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Filch.
Filch blocks the body kick.
Valdez ducks under a wild hook from Filch.

Filch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Valdez.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Valdez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

It looked like Filch wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Filch pushes Valdez up against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Filch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A determined DeMario Valdez didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
