Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Emory Terranova (ranked 23906 p4p, 24240 weight class) and Kaiden Matthew (ranked 475 p4p, 477 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Terranova gets the takedown into side control.
Terranova tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
You can see the frustration on Matthew's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee asks Terranova politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Terranova prefers to stall for the moment though.

Terranova tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Terranova has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Terranova is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Matthew is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Matthew slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Terranova drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Terranova jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Terranova stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Matthew swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Matthew can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Terranova controls the pace.
Matthew is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Terranova has hold of Matthew's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Matthew manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
