Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Wonder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Enter The Sandman. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvarez moves into the clinch successfully.
Alvarez landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Alvarez moves out of range of the body kick.
Wonder throws a nice looking combination but Alvarez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Alvarez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wonder looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Alvarez wanted to stand there but Wonder had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
You can see the frustration on Wonder's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Alvarez misses with the combination.
Alvarez avoids a kick to the body.

Alvarez is pressed up against the cage. Wonder has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alvarez down to the mat. Alvarez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Thiago Alvarez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Wonder.
Wonder throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Wonder tries to land a front kick but Alvarez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Alvarez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alvarez seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wonder is breathing heavily.
Alvarez lands a high kick to the side of Wonder's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Alvarez dives into guard, looking to finish.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alvarez lands with a right and another and another! Wonder is in big trouble! Alvarez lands again and this time it's lights out for Wonder! A quality knockout there for Alvarez.
