Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Paulsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gynther Gail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulsen comes to the cage accompanied by The Wicker Man. Jan Paulsen is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gail shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Paulsen pinned against the cage. Paulsen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Paulsen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gail momentarily.

It looks like Gynther Gail has been cut.
Paulsen stuns Gail with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gail gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Paulsen.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gail shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Paulsen pinned against the cage. Paulsen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Paulsen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Gail displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Paulsen throws out the jab.

Paulsen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gail looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Paulsen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Horrible takedown by Gail or perhaps it was just good defense by Paulsen which made him look bad.
Paulsen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gail circles away quickly and effectively.
Paulsen is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Paulsen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Paulsen lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Gail sprawling to the canvas. Paulsen follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Gail hang on?

Gail is rocked!

Paulsen tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gail.
Gail tries to roll over but Paulsen keeps him under control.
Paulsen tries to stand and escape but Gail is controlling the position.
Paulsen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Paulsen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Paulsen wants to stand up but Gail has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Gail looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Paulsen!
Gail avoids the attempt from Paulsen to control.

Gail working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Paulsen slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

Gail connects with a couple of short punches.
Gail won't allow Paulsen to get back to his feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Paulsen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gail accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gail shoots for a takedown but Paulsen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gail takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Gail is breathing heavily.

Paulsen cracks Gail with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gail looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Paulsen finish him?
Paulsen ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Paulsen moves into range and connects with a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Paulsen lands with a shot to the body.
Paulsen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gail can do to turn this around?
Gail takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Paulsen lands a right hook to the body.
Gail walks into a stiff left hand from Paulsen.
Paulsen lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Paulsen drops Gail with a left and a right! Oh, Gail is hurt - Paulsen dives into side control looking to finish!
Gail is still in real trouble! Can Paulsen finish him?

The cut above Gynther Gail's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Paulsen decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gail to his feet.
Gail seems to have recovered his senses.
Gail takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Paulsen drops Gail with a beautiful combination! Gail stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Paulsen is looking for the KO!

Gynther Gail's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Gail moves forwards but Paulsen connects with a nice, crisp jab.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gynther Gail's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
