And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; Max Holloway!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Fagan stuffs the takedown attempt from Holloway. Holloway gets slowly back to his feet.
Holloway fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fagan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Paddy Fagan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Holloway.
Holloway changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fagan tries to avoid it but Holloway manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fagan to the ground. Fagan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fagan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Fagan throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Holloway escapes and throws Fagan's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Fagan has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Holloway has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Fagan keeps control of the position as Holloway tries to break free.

Holloway is trying to defend against the choke here but Fagan has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Fagan Tightens the hold and Holloway taps out furiously! Fagan displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Paddy Fagan!
