Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vos Zy (ranked 1723 p4p, 1927 weight class) and Mateusz Biernat (ranked 197 p4p, 222 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Biernat's choice of entrance music: Ballroom Blitz. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Biernat shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Biernat is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Biernat wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zy keeps working.
Zy is looking for a sweep. Biernat is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Biernat looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Zy is looking to improve his position.

Biernat decides to return to a standing position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Zy throws a nice looking combination but Biernat bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Biernat dives in and grabs Zy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zy pushes down on Biernat's head and hops out.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Biernat crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Zy - the referee stops the clock and Biernat gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Zy. Biernat manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Biernat shoots in for a takedown but Zy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Zy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Biernat was well out of range. Poor timing from Zy.
Biernat shoots in but Zy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vos Zy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mateusz Biernat.
Biernat shoots for a double leg takedown but Zy sprawls well. He's pushed Biernat's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Biernat misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zy lands a jab to Biernat's midsection.
Mateusz Biernat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Biernat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Zy counters with a nice uppercut.
Biernat looks winded!
Biernat shoots in for a double leg but Zy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Biernat tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Zy lands a jab-cross combination.

It looks like Mateusz Biernat has been cut.

Zy tries to sprawl but Biernat drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Zy is looking to escape.

Biernat is working for a kimura but Zy is defending it quite comfortably.

Zy has one foot on Biernat's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Biernat wants to clinch
and Zy counters with a nice low kick that buckles Biernat's knee momentarily.
Zy cracks Biernat with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Biernat.
Zy darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Zy keeps Biernat at a distance using the push kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Biernat misses with a takedown
and Zy counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Biernat badly! Zy follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Biernat out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Zy finished him against the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Vos Zy!
Our winner, Vos Zy, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
