Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Day (ranked 3022 p4p, 1790 weight class) and Black Alligator (ranked 150 p4p, 102 weight class). Alligator has chosen Golden Features - Always as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Mikey Day has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Day uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Alligator.
Alligator throws a right and a left that both miss.
Day scores with a nice right hand.
Day fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alligator manages to avoid it.
Day throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Day, as that shot connected.
Day takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A looping hook to the body misses from Alligator. Day does a little dance to reset his feet.
Alligator fakes the leg kick and cracks Day in the body.
A slow jab from Alligator misses its intended target.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Day has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Alligator prevents a body shot from Day.
Alligator misses with the head strike.
Day tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Alligator's elbow.

Alligator lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Day or not.

Day works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Day slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Day gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Day pushes Alligator back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Alligator tries to stall but Day uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Day fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alligator sprawls well initially but Day persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Alligator is looking to get back to is feet but Day passes into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mikey Day overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Day seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Alligator for as long as he can get away with.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mikey Day will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Alligator felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Day tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Day has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Alligator is trying to stand back up but Day is controlling him

Day is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alligator defends it well.
