Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Khan Dharma (ranked 4348 p4p, 4625 weight class) and Mateusz Mateusz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mateusz has chosen Marcin Najman-ostatnia walka as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Khan Dharma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

Mateusz looking to score a takedown here. Dharma is defending well but Mateusz drives through and ends up in Dharma's guard.
Mateusz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Dharma is looking for a triangle but Mateusz pushes his legs off easily.

I really don't envy Mateusz right now.

Mateusz tries to roll but Dharma sticks to his back.
Mateusz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dharma. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dharma is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Dharma gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Dharma gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Dharma apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Dharma feints and as Mateusz raises his hands in defense, Dharma changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mateusz looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dharma puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Dharma is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Dharma is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Dharma lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Dharma fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dharma cracks Mateusz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Dharma defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mateusz.

and Dharma counters with a single leg into guard. Mateusz didn't expect that.
Dharma has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mateusz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dharma lands a couple of digs.
Mateusz will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Dharma advances position into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mateusz can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dharma wants to control the pace but Mateusz is squirming around nicely.
Mateusz's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Dharma goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mateusz turns into him and now he's in Dharma's guard.

Dharma is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mateusz defends well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mateusz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dharma has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mateusz has managed to get both his arms back between Dharma's legs - danger averted.

Mateusz wants to get up but he can't break Dharma's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mateusz looking to sit in guard and control but Dharma gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mateusz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dharma is working away from the top position though.

A bit of stalling here from Dharma.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mateusz takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Mateusz keeps control of Dharma as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Dharma wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mateusz is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dharma to keep the fight standing.

Mateusz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mateusz or perhaps it was just good defense by Dharma, which made it look bad.
Dharma feinted with a counter takedown.

Mateusz lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Mateusz moves to clinch but Dharma breaks away

so Dharma counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dharma is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Dharma missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dharma throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mateusz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dharma's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Khan Dharma is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mateusz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mateusz tries to get to full guard but Dharma has control of the leg.
Mateusz has hold of Dharma's hands but Dharma slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dharma seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mateusz for as long as he can get away with.
Dharma lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Dharma is taking a breather. Mateusz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dharma wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mateusz keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dharma is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Dharma trying to control from half guard but Mateusz is working away.
Dharma looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mateusz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mateusz is in trouble now - Dharma has advanced to mount!
Mateusz Mateusz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Khan Dharma showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Dharma has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
