Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arron Asham (ranked 342 p4p, 351 weight class) and Kron Kai (ranked 46 p4p, 47 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asham scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Jab, jab by Kai - just one landing.
Asham uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kai has time to react.
Asham connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

It looks like Kron Kai has been cut.
Kai takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kai takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kai misses with a hook to the body
and Asham cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Asham avoids the body shot from Kai.
Asham looks to score with a jab to the body but Kai is just out of range.
Asham will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Asham lands with a right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters circling - Asham throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Asham seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Kai changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Asham darts in and clinches Kai up against the cage.

Asham tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kai avoids it.

Kai pulls guard effortlessly.
Asham has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kai is proving hard to escape from.

Asham gets to his feet - Kai follows without any prompting.
Kai throws a body kick that misses
and Asham counters with a stiff right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That has opened up Kron Kai's cut even more.

Kai follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Asham misses with a looping right.
Kai let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
That kick from Asham tenderised Kai's leg. Kai is trying to keep his angry face on.
Asham tries to clinch up but Kai circles away and keeps his distance.
Kai moves out of range of the body kick.
Kai bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kai stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Kai wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Asham throws a lazy body kick
and Kai counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Arron Asham has been cut.
Kai on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Asham. Asham obviously looking to wear him down.
Kai misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Asham.
Kai rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kai takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Asham tries to clinch but Kai is having none of it.
Kai swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Asham is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Kai bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Asham counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Asham swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kai throws out a counter right but Asham avoids it with no problem.
Asham misses with a hook to the body
and Kai counters with a straight right hand.

Asham lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kai ducks under a wild hook from Asham.
Asham buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kai comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kai is pawing at Asham, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Asham's nose. Asham is badly hurt! Kai pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Asham tries desperately to hold on but Kai is relentless in his assault! As Asham receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Kai away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kron Kai!
Kron Kai bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
