Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 27 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bill Newton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Vertti Ekstrovertti!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton is looking to clinch but Ekstrovertti is avoiding it.
Ekstrovertti lands with an overhand left.
Newton keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Some wild striking there from Ekstrovertti.
A looping hook to the body misses from Newton. Ekstrovertti does a little dance to reset his feet.
Newton lands a glancing blow to the side of Ekstrovertti's head.
Newton's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ekstrovertti under the eye.

Ekstrovertti shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ekstrovertti was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Newton is looking to reverse the position.

Ekstrovertti thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ekstrovertti gets to mount! Newton was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Ekstrovertti looking to control but Newton is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Newton can't escape the position.

Newton tries to improve his position but instead Ekstrovertti has taken his back!
Newton has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Ekstrovertti is landing with strikes from the back.

Ekstrovertti really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Newton.

Ekstrovertti is persistently looking for the submission but Newton is defending it well.

Newton turns into Ekstrovertti and is now in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Newton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ekstrovertti, who protects the arm well.

Newton is trying to get an arm triangle but Ekstrovertti is defending well.
Newton advances nicely into full mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ekstrovertti wants to control but Newton is having none of it.

Newton is working for a guillotine from mount but Ekstrovertti frees his head quite easily.
Ekstrovertti can't escape the position.

Newton looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Newton goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ekstrovertti turns into him and now he's in Newton's guard.

Newton works his way to full guard. Good work.

Ekstrovertti got a little sloppy there for a moment and Newton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ekstrovertti has managed to get both his arms back between Newton's legs - danger averted.

Newton is staying active underneath Ekstrovertti, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Newton is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ekstrovertti pulls his head out easily.

Ekstrovertti might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Newton haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Newton has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ekstrovertti doesn't defend quickly enough and Newton has managed to lock this one up! Can Ekstrovertti escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Newton on a fantastic submission victory.
