Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gene Steve Duterte (ranked 1657 p4p, 3622 weight class) and J Gay G (ranked 194 p4p, 353 weight class). Gay G comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Down kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! J Gay G has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Gay G fails with an attempt to clinch.

Gay G manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Duterte on his heels. He'll look to pass Duterte's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duterte is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gay G is controlling him.
Gay G is in close to Duterte's body, working some short punches and elbows.

It looked like Duterte wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Gene Steve Duterte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of J Gay G.

and Duterte scores with a counter punch that sends Gay G to the canvas! Duterte smells blood - he's punishing Gay G with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Gay G has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Gene Steve Duterte spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
