Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mateusz Biernat (ranked 980 p4p, 1060 weight class) and Lazuran Riku (ranked 124 p4p, 134 weight class). Biernat comes to the cage accompanied by Ballroom Blitz. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Biernat tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Riku defends well and Biernat ends up having to push Riku into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Riku throws out a counter right but Biernat avoids it with no problem.

and Riku counters with a low kick, right behind Biernat 's knee.

Biernat looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mateusz Biernat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Biernat tries to close the distance and clinch but Riku swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Biernat shoots in but Riku avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Riku follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Biernat decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Riku manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Biernat keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Riku leaves Biernat with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Biernat changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Riku looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Riku throws Biernat to one side and escapes!

and Riku makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Biernat misses with a takedown attempt - Riku sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Biernat closes the distance and clinches up with Riku, looking for a takedown. Biernat pushes Riku against the cage but Riku circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Biernat will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Riku throws a nice looking combination but Biernat bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Biernat wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Riku finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Riku slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Riku dips to his left and cracks Biernat with an uppercut!
Riku throws a body punch but Biernat moves out of range.
Biernat went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Biernat is defended easily by Riku.

and Biernat takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Mateusz Biernat has been cut.

Riku fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Biernat looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Riku lands a left and a right that send Biernat crashing to the mat, dazed. Riku thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Biernat is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Riku darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Biernat's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Riku before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lazuran Riku!
Lazuran Riku was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
