Fight shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rome as he avoids it easily.
Rome scores with a crisp jab that stopped Fight in his tracks.

Horrible takedown attempt by Fight or perhaps it was just good defense by Rome, which made it look bad.

Test Fight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rome stuffs the takedown attempt from Fight. Fight gets slowly back to his feet.

Fight looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Fight takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Fight walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rome swats away the attempt to clinch by Fight.
Rome lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fight moves in looking to clinch but Rome pushes him off.

Fight throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Fight goes for a takedown attempt but Rome pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fight misses with a jab to the body
and Rome counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fight takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rome sizes up Fight with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Rome stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rome wants it to stay on the feet.
Nice jab there from Rome.
Fight tries to clinch but Rome moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fight looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rome is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Fight had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Rome gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rome throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Fights head.

Fight is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Fight breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rome cracks Fight with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rome avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Fight moves into the clinch.

Rome works over Fight's head and body with a nice combination.
Rome jabs Fight right on the nose. Fight blinks but takes it well.

Rome clinches.
Fight lands an elbow inside that Rome shrugs off.
Rome lands a nice knee to the body.
Rome putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Fight in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Rome blocks the elbow strike.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fight has a couple of punches blocked by Rome.
Fight lands an elbow just above Rome 's eye.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Fight gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Rome scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Fight tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rome paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rome connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

and Rome counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Oh Fight is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fight doesn't manage to clinch there - Rome circles away.
Fight looks up at the clock. Bad move! Rome lands a right hand from hell, dropping Fight. Rome pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
