PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Rasper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Styles Of Beyond- Nine Thou. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jasper Rasper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quinton Jackson!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rasper moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rasper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jackson, pushing him back against the cage.

Rasper is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Jackson wants the takedown. Rasper is fighting it off but Jackson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rasper's guard against the cage.

Jackson is working Rasper over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Rasper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jackson goes for a takedown attempt but Rasper pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A close round but Quinton Jackson will probably get the nod.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jackson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rasper is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jackson.

Rasper is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jackson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Quinton Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Rasper has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jackson is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jackson rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Rasper tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

I would just about give that final round to Quinton Jackson.
I've got Jackson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
