Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kekot Koket (ranked 5975 p4p, 5856 weight class) and Slomo Rosensteiner (ranked 463 p4p, 461 weight class). Kekot Koket has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Slomo Rosensteiner!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.

Rosensteiner chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Koket can pounce on him.

Rosensteiner drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rosensteiner is standing up over Koket. Koket looks to escape but Rosensteiner dives into side control.

Rosensteiner throws a strike aimed at the side of Koket's head but Koket avoids it well.
Rosensteiner has knee on belly and moves into mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rosensteiner looking to secure an arm triangle but Koket defends it well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rosensteiner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Rosensteiner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rosensteiner throws some wild stikes that Koket manages to avoid easily.

Koket knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rosensteiner on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

and Rosensteiner counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rosensteiner.

Rosensteiner is trying to maintain a safe position but Koket gets an underhook and turns Rosensteiner into the cage.
Koket tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Rosensteiner throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Koket blocks it with crossed arms.

Koket breaks the clinch.
Koket throws a right and a left that Rosensteiner avoids nicely.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Rosensteiner. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Koket lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rosensteiner circles away quickly and effectively.
Rosensteiner is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Kekot Koket seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koket throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rosensteiner tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rosensteiner dodges an elbow strike from Koket.
Rosensteiner blocks a body shot from Koket.
Rosensteiner using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Rosensteiner has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Koket lands a body punch.
Rosensteiner blocks the elbow strike.
Rosensteiner has Koket pressed against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Koket wants to break the clinch but can't.
Come on Rosensteiner - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Koket struggles to land a body shot inside as Rosensteiner controls his hands.

Rosensteiner has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Koket is trying to keep an underhook but Rosensteiner manages to get the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rosensteiner decides to return to a standing position.

Koket pushes Rosensteiner up against the cage in a clinch.
Koket is trying to maintain a safe position but Rosensteiner gets an underhook and turns Koket into the cage.
Rosensteiner fails to pull guard.
I was talking to Koket's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Rosensteiner fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kekot Koket has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slomo Rosensteiner.
Koket scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Rosensteiner pulls guard successfully.

Koket got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rosensteiner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Koket has managed to get both his arms back between Rosensteiner's legs - danger averted.
Slomo Rosensteiner has got the better of the ground game so far.

Rosensteiner pushes a forearm under Koket's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Koket is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
