Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tiko Gardeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sparky Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Burn it to the ground. On his way into the cage it seems that Tiko Gardeau has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Tiko Gardeau seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tiko Gardeau!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gardeau as he jumps to the side.
Jenkins looks for a takedown but Gardeau sprawls well.

and Jenkins counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jenkins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gardeau defends it well.
Jenkins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gardeau doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jenkins.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jenkins is working for an americana but Gardeau has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Jenkins was thinking about the submission.

Gardeau has his foot on Jenkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jenkins works his way back into a safe position though.

Jenkins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jenkins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gardeau manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jenkins has Gardeau in his guard.

Gardeau postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Jenkins isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gardeau stacks Jenkins on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gardeau!

Jenkins is not content to let Gardeau control the position.
Jenkins is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gardeau's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Jenkins is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Gardeau pulls his head out easily.
Jenkins is looking for a sweep. Gardeau is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gardeau in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Jenkins tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gardeau!
