Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Freddy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes into the arena with We Want The Funk by George Clinton & the P-Funk Allstars blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Power tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Power.
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Power.
James throws a solid leg kick but Power takes the impact on his shin and smiles at James.
Power lands with a slapping head kick.
No joy there for Power, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
James on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Power misses with a series of wild punches.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Power.

Power rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but James moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
James swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Power.

James closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
James works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Power wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but James has him pressed against the cage.
Power misses with a hook to the ribs.

Power goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

James shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

James cracks Power with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

James has taken the fight to the clinch.

Power's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Power swings and misses with a hook to the body.

James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Power swats him away and circles back towards the center.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Power ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Nice combo by James! Oh, that's hurt him - Power falls to the canvas and James follows him into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Power throws a lazy right hand but James sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Power is rocked!
James connects with a stiff jab that staggers Power - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
