The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maxi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maxi to the mat! Maxi manages to get full guard.
Maxi controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.
Silva wants to get up but he can't break Maxi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Silva connects with a couple of short punches.
