Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bessarion Alexius (ranked 2512 p4p, 1827 weight class) and Long Hung Dong (ranked 358 p4p, 274 weight class). Alexius kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is A Country Boy Can Survive. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Dong misses with a body shot.
Dong fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alexius has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Alexius has closed the distance and engaged Dong in a clinch.

Alexius throws a leg kick but Dong sees it coming and checks it nicely.
It seemed like Dong was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Alexius closes the distance and clinches up with Dong, looking for a takedown. Alexius pushes Dong against the cage but Dong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dong avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dong lands with a straight right. Alexius didn't see that one coming.
Dong moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nice straight punches there by Dong. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dong.
Dong motions for Alexius to come forward. Dong throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Crunch! Dong slams his shin into Alexius's torso.
Dong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Alexius.
Alexius ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dong moves away.

Dong lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Alexius tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dong swivels and escapes.
Alexius misses with a series of wild punches.
Alexius throws a body punch but Dong moves out of range.
Dong lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Dong throws a leg kick but Alexius moved away.
Alexius on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Long Hung Dong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Alexius finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Alexius bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dong's head.

Alexius content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Dong has locked up a guillotine! Dong's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Alexius is holding on here and Dong must be using up a lot of energy. Alexius has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Dong gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

An out of breath Long Hung Dong thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
