The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petit lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McBride circles away quickly and effectively.
Petit avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - McBride looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Petit misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Petit digs a good hook to McBride's body.
McBride is looking to clinch but Petit is avoiding it.

McBride rushes Petit and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
McBride is trying to maintain a safe position but Petit gets an underhook and turns McBride into the cage.

It looks like Ricky McBride has been cut.
Petit missing with a left hand there. McBride was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McBride tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Petit paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ricky McBride seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McBride takes one to the side of the head.

Petit sends McBride crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Petit is motioning to the referee to let McBride up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Petit darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! McBride's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Petit before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
