Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jose Markes (ranked 4235 p4p, 6922 weight class) and Project AB (ranked 197 p4p, 253 weight class). Project AB is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

Markes misses with a looping right.
Markes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A telegraphed right hand from Markes misses the target.
The fighters circling - Markes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
AB looks like he wants to counter punch here.
AB throws a hook but Markes avoids it easily.

Markes throws a low kick but AB avoids it.

and Markes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

AB pulls Markes in close to his closed guard and prevents Markes from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Markes wants to stand but AB is controlling his posture from full guard.

Markes tries to bum rush AB with a series of wild strikes but AB uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Markes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Markes lands with an uppercut that bounces AB off the cage and back into range.

Markes throws a big shot that misses.
Markes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by AB.
Markes dips to his left and cracks AB with an uppercut!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
AB pushes Markes back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Markes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Markes is trying to break the clinch but AB is controlling him.
AB fails to pull guard.
Markes manages to break the clinch.
AB tried to score with a low kick but Markes checks it.
AB rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Markes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Markes takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Markes has AB up against the cage in a clinch.
Markes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
AB tries to pull guard but Markes forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Jose Markes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Project AB.
AB prevents Markes from breaking the clinch.
Markes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but AB has him pressed against the cage.

AB throws a sloppy body shot
enabling Markes to counter with a crisp jab.
Markes bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
AB does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Markes tries to counter with a takedown but AB is quick to defend against it.
Markes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Markes is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
AB misses with an attempted mid kick.
Markes is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
AB gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
AB closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Markes to the mat! Markes manages to get full guard.
Markes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst AB is controlling him.

AB takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Markes counters with a nice right hand that sends AB toppling to the canvas! AB scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Markes finish him?!

AB is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Markes rather than just go for the knockout.
AB throws a looping overhand right but Markes ducks down to avoid it.

Markes drops AB with a straight left! Oh this is bad for AB! Markes dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
