Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Mcgillicutty (ranked 701 p4p, 1763 weight class) and Rayleigh Dragon (ranked 87 p4p, 218 weight class). Mcgillicutty comes to the cage accompanied by Armin van Buuren - Blahblahblah. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rayleigh Dragon!

Dragon misses with a combination
and Mcgillicutty counters with a nice uppercut.
Paddy Mcgillicutty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcgillicutty misses with a few strikes there.
Mcgillicutty lands a glancing blow to the side of Dragon's head.
Mcgillicutty throws a left and a right that both miss

and Dragon counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mcgillicutty won't be happy with that.

Dragon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dragon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dragon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mcgillicutty keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Dragon moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Mcgillicutty.
Mcgillicutty tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dragon happy to just control the position for now.

Mcgillicutty is looking for a sweep. Dragon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dragon works his foot free and advances to mount.

Dragon avoids the attempt from Mcgillicutty to control.
Mcgillicutty is controlling an arm, preventing Dragon from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Mcgillicutty is just holding on here. Dragon manages to take his back.
Dragon has the hooks in. Mcgillicutty is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Mcgillicutty is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dragon gets his way!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mcgillicutty is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rayleigh Dragon dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Horrible takedown attempt by Dragon or perhaps it was just good defense by Mcgillicutty, which made it look bad.
Dragon slips a jab from Mcgillicutty.
Mcgillicutty swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mcgillicutty bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Dragon's head backwards.
Dragon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dragon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Paddy Mcgillicutty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rayleigh Dragon.

Danga de danga de dang - Mcgillicutty scores with a four punch combination!
Paddy Mcgillicutty is winning the standup battle so far.
Mcgillicutty drops Dragon with a naaaaasty hook - Dragon is in real trouble here! Mcgillicutty dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paddy Mcgillicutty!
Our winner, Paddy Mcgillicutty, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
