Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

Trip bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Salvacion pushes Trip off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Trip goes for a double leg but Salvacion avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Salvacion continues to drive forward.
It seemed like Salvacion was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Trip shoots in looking for a takedown. Salvacion tries to sprawl out of it but Trip keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Salvacion manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Salvacion makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Trip really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Salvacion is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Salvacion has his feet on Trip's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Trip shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Salvacion as he avoids it easily.

Trip seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Trip sets himself, and Salvacion steps forward looking for the clinch! Trip avoids it this time.
Trip closes this distance looking for a takedown but Salvacion circles away.
Salvacion is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Trip with a body shot.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Salvacion enables Trip to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Salvacion manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Salvacion has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Trip has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I was talking to Trip's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Trip shoots in and drives through. Salvacion sprawls well.
And Salvacion tries to counter it with a takedown but Trip pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Trip misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Salvacion lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Alexis Salvacion is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Salvacion wants to get back to his feet but Trip is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Trip stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Salvacion swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
