Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 25463 p4p, 4846 weight class) and Bobby Fischer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobby Fischer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bobby Fischer!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and David Hoff.

Fischer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Diaz pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fischer passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Fischer is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Diaz will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
It looks like Fischer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fischer tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Fischer is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Diaz will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Diaz tries to reverse the position but Fischer maintains control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz tries to lock up and control but Fischer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fischer is looking to work his way around to Diaz's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Fischer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fischer wants to take Diaz's back here but Diaz is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Fischer wants to stand but Diaz is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Fischer unloads with some shots from mount but Diaz bucks and avoids them well.
Diaz tries to hold on but Fischer postures up.

Let's hope that Fischer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Fischer is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Diaz has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Fischer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fischer in particular looking to stall.
Diaz is pressing down on Fischer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Fischer's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fischer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Fischer looking to score a takedown here. Diaz is defending well but Fischer drives through and ends up in Diaz's guard.
Fischer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We've been told by Diaz's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Fischer closes the distance and pushes Diaz back into the cage.
Diaz fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Diaz is trying to maintain a safe position but Fischer gets an underhook and turns Diaz into the cage.
Diaz is trying to drag Fischer to the mat but Fischer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Diaz misses with a knee strike.
Diaz effectively controlling the action here.
Diaz prevents a takedown attempt there.
Diaz is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Fischer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Diaz's efforts to push away.
Fischer tries for a takedown. No joy.
Nick Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Fischer.

Diaz gets control of Fischer's arms and successfully pulls guard. Diaz will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Fischer stays in close to Diaz's body and controls the position.

Diaz wriggles free and stands up.
Diaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fischer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diaz somewhat.

Diaz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fischer swivels and escapes.
Diaz tries a head kick but it misses.
Diaz misses with a series of wild punches.

Fischer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fischer prevents Diaz from standing back up.
Fischer tries to pass to full mount but Diaz defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nick Diaz will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Fischer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fischer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fischer is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Diaz is trying to escape and Fischer transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Diaz is forced to tap! Nice work there by Fischer! Very nice indeed!
