Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Leahy (ranked 2338 p4p, 1503 weight class) and Andy Hughes (ranked 301 p4p, 194 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Leahy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andy Hughes !
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.

Hughes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hughes ! But no joy.
Leahy shoots for a takedown but Hughes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Leahy has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hughes finds it's way round the side to connect with Leahy's head.
It looks like Robert Leahy has been cut.
Hughes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Leahy sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hughes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Leahy feints and as Hughes raises his hands in defense, Leahy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Leahy slips nicely into half guard.
Hughes is in trouble now - Leahy has advanced to mount!
Leahy controlling the pace for now.
Hughes tries to lock up and control but Leahy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Leahy moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hughes has worked his arm free - good work by Hughes !
Hughes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leahy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Leahy remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Leahy looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Hughes prevents Leahy from moving into mount.
Leahy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hughes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hughes is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Leahy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Leahy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Leahy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Leahy remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Leahy has hold of Hughes 's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hughes seems comfortable defending it but Leahy has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hughes is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hughes is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Leahy couldn't care less - he's delighted!
