Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Hines (ranked 4861 p4p, 4868 weight class) and JC Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Hines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, JC Turner!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.

Hines shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Turner's guard.

Turner pushes Hines off and gets back to his feet.
Hines tries to close the distance and clinch up but Turner swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Turner fails to land with a series of punches.
Turner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hines manages to avoid it.
Turner cracks Hines with a good jab.

It looks like Joe Hines has been cut.

Hines feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Turner wants to get back to his feet but Hines passes into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Turner won't allow Hines to pass to mount.
Hines is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hines content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hines thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Turner's head.

Hines takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Turner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hines.
Hines is pressing down on Turner's thigh, looking to free his foot. Turner is holding on for now.
Hines seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hines throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Nice uppercut lands for Hines. That snapped Turner's head back.
Hines tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hines tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Turner paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hines fails to land with a series of punches.

Turner misses with a wild combination.
Turner looks winded!
Hines shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Turner defends it nicely.

Hines bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hines wants to stand but Turner has his arm trapped.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hines controls the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Turner can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hines works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Turner taking a bit of punishment here - Hines scoring with strikes.
Hines staying calm.
Hines tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Hines will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hines shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Turner manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Hines has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hines is looking to work some ground and pound but Turner has wrist control.
Hines sitting in guard here, content to control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hines working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Turner's head.
Hines lands a couple of elbows.
Turner is breathing heavily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hines's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hines forces his way into half guard.
Hines stalling.

Hines seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Turner for as long as he can get away with.
Hines uses his free foot to push down on Turner's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Turner.

Hines controlling the pace for now.
Turner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hines connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Turner is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Hines locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Turner is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joe Hines!
Joe Hines seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
