Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Freddie McDowe (ranked 3835 p4p, 24872 weight class) and Dude McWrestler (ranked 504 p4p, 717 weight class). McDowe's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The King Of The Highlands. McWrestler comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Tenacious D - Dude kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Freddie McDowe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dude McWrestler!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McWrestler shoots in looking for a takedown. McDowe tries to sprawl out of it but McWrestler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McDowe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McDowe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
McDowe leaves McWrestler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McDowe lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McWrestler walks into a straight right hand from McDowe.

McWrestler closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McWrestler working some nice short punches in the clinch.
McWrestler looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

McWrestler wants the takedown. McDowe is fighting it off but McWrestler persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in McDowe's guard against the cage.
McDowe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
McDowe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
McWrestler trying to control but McDowe is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McWrestler cracks McDowe with a solid left hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McDowe trying to control the position.
McDowe is trying to hold McWrestler in close to prevent damage but McWrestler has managed to pass into half guard.
McDowe trying to hold on to McWrestler's head to control him but McWrestler postures up.
McWrestler is figuring out what he wants to do next.
McWrestler trying to pass the guard but McDowe defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McWrestler with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
McDowe tries to regain full guard. Instead though, McWrestler has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

McDowe tries to lock up and control but McWrestler gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

McWrestler postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! McDowe is out cold - huge knockout for McWrestler!

Dude McWrestler decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
