Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Irwin (ranked 2872 p4p, 24030 weight class) and Duffy Fulcher (ranked 304 p4p, 527 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Irwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Duffy Fulcher!

Fulcher bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Irwin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fulcher on the ground.
Irwin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Fulcher's best efforts.
Irwin is looking to improve his position.

Fulcher is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are battling for position here. Irwin manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Irwin is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Iron mikes mma that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Irwin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fulcher can do to turn this around?

This is a sustained period of stalling by Irwin.
Christopher Irwin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Irwin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fulcher for as long as he can get away with.

Irwin is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Fulcher will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Irwin takes a little break here. Fulcher wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Irwin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Irwin is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Irwin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Fulcher decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Irwin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Irwin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Irwin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Irwin lands in his opponent's guard.

Irwin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fulcher has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Irwin has managed to get both his arms back between Fulcher's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Irwin tries to free his leg and advance position but Fulcher is retaining full guard.
Irwin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Irwin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well Irwin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Christopher Irwin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
